Leadership in Family Support
At Sears Holdings, we offer our associates an adoption assistance program so all families can receive the support they need as they develop and grow. The program assists associates by covering a portion of expenses associated with an adoption and offering paid time off as the associate welcomes a new member into their family.

In 2017, Sears Holdings was once again ranked in the top 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. The list is determined by an analysis of a company's adoption benefits based on surveys completed by employers, including the maximum amount of financial reimbursement and paid leave for families who adopt.
Valuing Our Veterans

Companies within the Sears Holdings family have been proud supporters of America’s military and our employees serving in the Armed Forces since World War I.  Today, our partnership is just as strong. Sears Holdings employs more than 30,000 veterans and 1,500 active members of the Reserve and National Guard. Additionally, we recruit more than 2,700 military veterans and veteran spouses as new associates annually with the Military Spouse Employment Partnership.

Along with our comprehensive benefits program, military service members also have additional benefits. The most notable is our Military Pay Differential and Benefits Continuation program. SHC's military pay differential fills the gap between military pay and employer pay, and offers benefits continuation to 60 months for eligible employees called to duty in the Reserve or National Guard. Serving our country shouldn’t come with a pay cut and we make sure it doesn't.
