Sears Holdings publishes an annual Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report. The contents of this report represent Sears Holdings' U.S. operations for the 2017 calendar year unless otherwise noted.
The naming convention of this report has changed to reflect the year of publishing (2018) as opposed to our previous reports, which were named based on the year in which the data represented. Consequently, there will not be a report titled the 2017 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report, as this 2018 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report represents 2017 content.
The retail industry is changing rapidly. The progression of the Internet, mobile technology, social networking and social media is fundamentally reshaping the way we interact with our core customers and members. As a result, we are transitioning to a member-centric company. Our focus continues to be on our core customers, our members and finding ways to provide them value and convenience through Integrated Retail and our Shop Your Way® membership platform. We have invested significantly in our online e-commerce platforms, our membership program and the technology needed to support these initiatives.
The scope and boundaries of this report include our environmental and social impacts and initiatives across the organization. The contents of this report have been gathered without external auditing.
